Why have we expected the women and
children who are the ones suffering from domestic violence,
to be
the ones who leave the home?
“Why doesn’t she leave?” “The home is a man’s castle”. Not any
longer.
Across Australia changes are occurring to make the home safer and to
remove the violent partner.
This Webpage is for women wanting information
about their rights and what they can do.
It’s for services interested in doing something different in their
area.
In the Bega Valley we were fortunate to run a pilot called
Staying Home Leaving Violence. From
July 2007 the Staying Home Leaving Violence pilot became a funded
project receiving funding from the Department of Community Services
Community Services Division.
We want to share with you what we have learnt. Because what we want
